LOCATION

The Center is located in the old town of Beit Sahour one-kilometer east of Bethlehem , the birthplace of Jesus Christ. Its nomenclature reportedly stems from the good tidings the Magi gave to the Shepherds watching their flocks by night. The name means  Shepherd's village.

According to the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS)  census of 1998  the total population of Beit Sahour is 12,300consisting of greek Orthodox, Latins, Greek catholic, Anglicans and Muslims.

The town of  Beit  Sahour is famous for the internationally known Shepherds' Field, which lies on the eastern end of the town where the angles appeared bringing the good tidings of Christ's birth and saying " Glory to God in the Highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men".
